The Michigan Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association was founded in 1944 by a small group of electrical contractors from throughout various regions of the State of Michigan. The purpose and objectives then, as it remains today, were to represent, promote and advance the electrical contracting industry and the consumers which utilize our member's services.

The Chapter promotes and encourages efficient, safe and economical electrical installations. We encourage active competing and sound, ethical business practices among all members of the electrical contracting industry, members of other construction trades, government bodies, private enterprise and the general public. The Michigan Chapter develops, promotes and conducts training programs throughout the state to keep our electrical contractors and their employees on the cutting edge of technology.

The Michigan Chapter represents the entire State of Michigan except the counties of Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac in the southeastern area of the State, Huron, Berrien and Cass in the southwest corner of the State, and Gogebic and a small portion of Menominee in the Upper Peninsula. Over 100 of the very best electrical contractors in the State have elected to be a part of the premier trade association representing their industry. The Chapter is proud of its member firms and their employees, and their record of volunteering valuable time for the betterment of the industry, and making Michigan a better place in which to work and live.

Chapter Members are afforded an opportunity to have a direct say in the electrical industry and its future through regular meetings held at the chapter, district and national levels. Subjects discussed may include such areas as Labor Relations, Marketing, Industry Relations, Technical and Training Programs, Codes and Standards, Government Relations and Legislation, Safety, and Employee Training.
